About Terri

Family Oriented

Hi, I'm Terri! In this picture you see with me; my husband Terry, my daughter Ayva, my son Taj, and my son August. You also see our dog Jax. What you don’t see in this picture, is that I have 11 siblings, and 36 nieces and nephews. Growing up in a large family, one that was always led by God, I learned how to be personable, and love others in such a way that it did not feel forced. Caring for others has always felt as a great privilege and honor. As I grew away from family, and began to create my own, that same care for others extended out to complete strangers. As a coach, I care for my clients as though they are my family. I have this understanding that taking care of their health and wellness is the way that I serve here in God’s kingdom.

My mission is to love my neighbors, and introduce them to a lifestyle where health is not a concern, and they can simply fulfill the calling that God has for them here on Earth, for a long time.

Always A Student

I first studied Kinesiology at Chowan University in 2011. The very next year, I transferred to UNC-Charlotte where I continued my studies for 2 more years in Kinesiology, Exercise Sciences, and Psychology before dropping out to begin a new chapter in my life; motherhood. I am currently studying to become a Certified Personal Trainer through NASM, and this year I have added to that, a course to become a Certified Nutrition Coach. In alignment with the practices of the National Academy for Sports Medicine, I only operate in science based evidence and practical research.

I believe that I have a gift in learning a person, and creating the best program for that individual, based on what is realistic for their lifestyle, and what fits their body, no one else’s.

After just one year of a custom program with me, my clients have conquered many goals. Just to name a few: fat loss, muscle gain, dropping A1C levels, eliminating stubborn bloat, and even curing intense migraines.

Why Health and Fitness?

Here is a picture of me at 17 years old. I am sitting in my Weight Training class in high school. I had fallen in love with weight training, and in turn, fallen in love with the idea of physical fitness or health and wellness as a career. Throughout highschool my only love was playing basketball and I was smitten with being physically fit.  I believed everyone should be athletes because I understood that with the right training the human body is capable of much more than our brains realize.

Overtime, my fascination for human physical fitness would turn from the focus of athletes, to the general public. One pivotal moment, was losing my mother to colon cancer. She was 54. As a kinesiology student, my freshman year of college, my father planted this idea in my head; there should be more work done, that incorporates exercise and diet into the treatment of cancer patients.

My goal is to provide proactive preventive care for all illness and disease to anyone that is willing to take their health seriously. Not only for themselves, but for the people that love them. An avenue that ensures that health is no concern for a life of longevity. Research shows, proper diet and exercise, seem to be the key to preventive care, for all.
